We are pleased to welcome you to the Foundation Orchestra Association’s web site and to invite you to learn about our mission. We at FOA are honored to represent the many world cultures whose music we perform for all to enjoy.
The Foundation Orchestra is the official orchestra of the Andean Explorers Foundation & Ocean Sailing Club. This full symphonic ensemble has been performing in public concerts and recording in the studio, unique music that is multi-cultural. Such varied music includes ethnic music and musicological transcriptions, classical selections, film scores, new and original compositions, vocal music, dance music and music seldom heard in the conventional concert hall. We especially perform music by, and featuring, artists from the Americas.
Although The Foundation Orchestra has been performing since 1989, it is in the new millennium that we are coming out, so to speak, as an alternative voice for musical performance. Indeed, our goal is to reach the entire world with a musical repertoire of standard as well as new compositions rich in cultural, ethnic and stylistic diversity.
FOA is a division of the Andean Explorers Foundation & Ocean Sailing Club, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. All officers are non-salaried, and board members volunteer their services as contributions.
FOA is proud to be licensed by BMI and ASCAP and to be a member of the American Symphony Orchestra League (ASOL) and the Sierra Arts Foundation.
